Becoming a volunteer is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4; turn off your lights, wash dishes and clothes later in the evening, cook dinner in your microwave oven rather than with an electric range, and turn your thermostat up 2-3 degrees. By doing these four simple steps between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., you will be helping to reduce peak demand and, in turn, help put off building new power generation plants and buying expensive electricity. So when you sign up, you will protect our environment and save money too. As a thank you for becoming a Power Saver™ Volunteer, we'll also send you a free Home Weatherization kit including weather stripping; outlet sealers; two compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) and a energy saver nightlight, which you will receive your gift in about 4 weeks.
