Carbon Footprint Calculator
An individual's carbon footprint represents the amount of greenhouse gasses that a person produces through his/her daily activities. These gasses generally come from the burning of fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas).
Carbon dioxide (CO2), and other greenhouse gasses, can have a profound effect on the climate. The first step in decreasing this impact and protecting our climate is to know your carbon footprint.
The City of Austin is in the process of creating an Austin specific greenhouse gas footprint calculator. This calculator will be specifically tailored to the Austin environment, but is not yet ready for viewing. Luckily, you do not need to wait for its release to calculate your footprint. The following links are not part of the Climate Protection website and are provided as a courtesy while the Austin specific calculator is developed. Use one of the following calculators and get started today.
