Welcome to the Austin Climate Protection Program website

In response to the Climate Protection Plan's requirements to disclose energy use and encourage energy efficiency improvements in existing buildings, the Energy Efficiency Upgrades Task Force was created to provide the City Council with recommendations on how to achieve these goals. The Task Force — comprised of 27 individuals representing real estate and lending professionals, energy contractors, and consumer and affordable-housing advocates — developed recommendations on how to increase energy efficiency in existing single-family homes, multi-family units, and commercial buildings.

To learn more about this Task Force, please see the Energy Efficiency Upgrades Task Force presentation (PDF, 33 KB) on their recommendations to the Resource Management Commission.

Read the full report to City Council (PDF, 151 KB) or check out the "What's New" section for the latest developments.
